🪨Rock Project for 1st Grade 🪨 Chris Proctor from Statefarm brought special guest and author, Jamari Sharp, to visit first grade students. Jamari is the author of “Unleash Your Inner Hero”. He read the story and even left us a signed copy! What a wonderful lesson and way to kick off Literacy Week! 📚 Additionally, Chris and his wife Kiara brought rocks for each student to paint and add their word for 2026 to leave in the community for others to find and pass on positive vibes throughout the Gulf Breeze Community. If you find a rock, please take a photo and tag us in it. Kindness ROCKS at GBE! 🐬

We celebrated 100 days of school today! 🎉 From a special visit by Zero the Hero to spotting lots of “100-year-olds” and superheroes in the hallways, the fun was everywhere! Our 5th graders also joined in by rocking their best ’80s looks to celebrate 80 days left in elementary school. 🦸‍♂️🕶️ Happy 100th Day from all of us at GBE! 🐬

We are preparing for Literacy Week at GBE! This year’s theme is “READ, White, and Blue” and we are ready to celebrate 250 Chapters of American History! 🇺🇸 Dress Up Days are below! 📕 ❤️Monday 1/26 - Wear Red (Turn up the heat - ignite your love for reading in red) 🤍Tuesday 1/27 - Wear White (Let your imagination sparkle white and bright) 💙Wednesday 1/28 - Wear Blue (Stay cool, calm, and blue - ready something new) 🎖️Thursday 1/29 - Wear Camo/Military Attire (Salute to stories - honor our heroes through reading) 🎉Friday 1/30 - Decade Day (Travel through time - 250 years of reading fun) Please check the flyer coming home with your student to learn more about Bingo, a school wide reading challenge, and other fun family activities. Let’s celebrate the joy of reading, honor our heroes, and make this a week to remember!

Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our pod - Mrs. Nadia Colin, Principal of Gulf Breeze Elementary School! 🐬 Mrs. Colin is a graduate of GBHS and has served as an educator in Santa Rosa County for 17 years. During this time, Mrs. Colin has served in a variety of roles including teacher at Oriole Beach Elementary, Assistant Principal at West Navarre Intermediate, Principal at East Milton Elementary, and Public Information Officer for the District. Mrs. Colin is excited to be back at a school site and is ready to serve the students, staff, and families in the Gulf Breeze Community. Welcome, Mrs. Colin!

In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 19, 2026. We honor Dr. King's legacy of courage, equality, and service. School will resume on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Hello GBE Families, We will be conducting a lockdown drill at school today as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law. We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety. Again, all students are safe, and this is simply a required lockdown drill. Thank you for your understanding and support!
