Our annual Scholastic Book Fair begins Monday. The book fair i open M-Th 7am-9am and 1pm-2pm, Friday 7am-12noon. The Book Fair will also be open during the STEAM Fair Wednesday afternoon from 3pm-5pm.

Children currently enrolled in the Head Start Program must be registered at their receiving school for kindergarten. Please note, if your child is currently enrolled in the Head Start Program- DO NOT -complete the online registration process. Contact the school you are zoned for to register in person.

We hope you enjoyed Spring Break. Remember, Monday is a teacher planning day. Students return Tuesday.

Parents of 4 year old students that are participating in the Smart Start Literacy: 5-Day Family Reading Challenge are reminded to complete the Post-Activity Survey (https://tinyurl.com/42j5jn2z) when you complete the challenge. Families with completed Post-Activity Surveys will receive a new book in April.

WHAT? As part of our commitment to providing continuous service excellence to our families and our community, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education. Your feedback will help us determine what is working well in your child's school and any areas that may need improvement.

KEY POINTS:
➡️The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit.
➡️The survey will ask you to select your child's school, and you can complete a separate survey for each of the schools your children attend.

We will celebrate “Read Across America” week March 2nd-6th. During the week, we will be reading many Dr. Seuss books and doing fun activities! As part of our celebration, we will have “dress up” days for the week. The “dress up” days are as follows:
Monday – Wear crazy socks (Fox in Socks)
Tuesday- Crazy Hair Day (Thing One and Thing Two Day)
Wednesday- Wear wacky clothes (Wacky Wednesday)
Thursday- Wear Green (Green Eggs and Ham)
Friday- Wear Red (Cat in the Hat day)

In observance of President's Day, school will be closed next Monday, February 16.

Our monthly Head Start Policy Council and TRJ School Advisory Committee is this Friday, February 13, at 8:00 a.m.

DAD TAG is a monthly day of volunteering. We encourage all dads to join us for at least one day of volunteering every school year. To participate, you must have an approved volunteer application for the 2025-26 school year. We are moving this month's day to the 18th due to scheduling conflicts. We meet at the school at 8 a.m. and typically complete a project on campus. We are generally done by 10:30 a.m.

RSVPs for next Friday's Parent Training and Self-Care Make & Take are due tomorrow. Flyers went home in your child's take home folder on Monday.

There is a food giveaway this Saturday, February 7 at 8 a.m. at the Bagdad Community Center.

Please help us out by sharing the following reminders with anyone that brings or picks up your child from school.
1) Observe the parking lot speed limit of 5 mph.
2) Hold your child's hand while in the parking lot.
3) Use crosswalks to cross the parking lot.
4) Wait for parking lot staff to direct you before backing out.
5) Do not enter or exit a vehicle that is not in a parking space.

Annual school pictures were moved from the Fall to February this year due to cafeteria renovations. Our school picture day will be Wednesday, February 4. Portrait Package envelopes went home today in your child's take home folder. If you choose to purchase a package, be sure to return the envelope with payment enclosed to your child's teacher no later than sign in on Wednesday, February 4.

The Santa Rosa County District Schools Head Start Program will begin accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year starting January 26, 2026.
