On April 15, 2025, Pace High School’s drama program delivered its final improv show of the year, themed “Through the Ages.” Each cast member dressed to represent a different historical era, adding a fun visual twist to the unscripted performances. Senior Xavier Johnson took the stage in a costume inspired by the 70s era, bringing energy and creativity to his various characters. “With my outfit, I designed it myself. I took my matching set and dizzled and dazzled it up with yellow paint, in the form of peace symbols,” Johnson said. The show featured a wide variety of games that kept the audience engaged, including “Hoedown”,”Monkey See Monkey Do”, “Customer Service”, “Foreign Film Dub”, “Soundtrack”, “Scenes from a Hat”, “Poetry Corner”, “Boris”, “Movie Interview”, and “Beastie Boys”. Show host Kora Van Matre, 12 described her favorite game “Beastie Boys” as “a rhythmic rap battle focused on rhyming one word with a bunch of others against another person. This game is always done at the end of the show and seems to be a fan favorite. Van Matre added, “I love this game, because of my experience in musical theatre.” For senior Graham Heisel, the night was especially meaningful. “This show was the last full improv show before senior improv, so it was a very bittersweet performance,” he shared. With quick thinking, creative costumes, and lots of laughs, “Through the Ages” was a memorable send-off to another successful year of improv at Pace.
