Jay Elementary was full of flavor and fun today!

Students got to sample delicious Mood Boost foods — Peanut Butter with Celery for Strong and Kidney Bean Hummus for Smart — while learning how food can fuel both body and mind. 💪🧠

They also picked up some awesome swag to celebrate making healthy choices! 🎉✨

It's time to celebrate! We have been recognized by the FLPBIS Project as a 2024-2025 PBIS Model School!
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a 3-tiered evidence-based
prevention framework that leads to reduced exclusionary discipline and improved student
and teacher outcomes when fully implemented. By establishing PBIS, we are developing
skills, enhancing our school environment, acknowledging appropriate behavior, and using
data to identify supports for all of our students and teachers. As a PBIS Model School, we are
committed to the effective implementation of PBIS and are seeking positive outcomes for all!

For all parents/guardians: For your convenience, our Department of Health nurses will be offering the Flumist vaccine here at our school on October 14th. Your student will bring home consent forms and an information packet on Monday 8/25/25. The consent form is a front and back page that must be completed and returned to the school no later than Monday September 8, 2025 for your student to receive the Flumist vaccine on campus during our vaccine clinic. Please review this packet, complete both the front and the back of the consent form, and return to the school by 9/8/25 if you wish to take advantage of this convenient opportunity. This year, our health department will be administering the nasal FluMist vaccine to every age group of students. No student will receive a vaccine without a properly completed consent form.

Hello Jay Elementary Families,

This is Josh Pape with an important message for parents and families. We will be conducting a lockdown drill at school tomorrow (August 20th) as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law. We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety. For this first drill, we wanted to give even more advanced notice, so that families can have discussions at home and reduce any concerns that could arise. Thank you for your partnership to ensure drills, such as this, go smoothly.
