Programs - Certified Nursing Assistant - 165 Hour Program - 3 Credits

The CNA program prepares high school students for employment in nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living, and other health care facilities.  The CNA is a valuable member of the health care team, focusing on direct patient care.  The course includes rigorous content such as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, CPR, gerontology, and nutrition.  The course also includes “soft skills” such as interpersonal relationships, legal and ethical responsibilities, and employability skills.  As a CNA student, you will attend Locklin Tech for one half of the school day.  The program is one year in length and offers two elective credits and one science credit.

Due to clinical requirements, all students must complete background and drug screening before being enrolled in the program.  Contact the guidance department at your home school or at Locklin Tech for more information.
