The purpose of this program is to provide students with supervised on-the-job training. Also included as part of Diversified Career Technology (DCT) / Cooperative Diversified Education (CDE) is employment-related instruction which will help the student comprehend and apply the expectations in the "world of work" environment. This instruction is taught through the classroom or from a training plan related to the student's occupation.

On the job training is required of all DCT students. Each student should have a part-time or full-time job before enrolling. However, students who have been unable to secure employment, but want to enroll in DCT, may contact the DCT Coordinator, Paula Butcher, for assistance in securing employment.

To obtain a Certificate of Completion, the student must fulfill all admission requirements including a minimum level of 8th grade math, and reading, language skills. Students meeting admission requirements but scoring less than the 8th grade level must enroll in the VPI program until they have obtained the required minimum grade level.

A student may earn 6 secondary school credits in this program. Program costs consists of obtaining appropriate clothes for job setting.
