Culinary Operations
1200 Hour Program
Instructor: Norm Domek
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment in the food service industry. This program also provides supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in this industry. Hands-on activities are an integral part of the program and provide instruction in the use of tools, equipment, materials and processes found in the industry.
Locklin Tech is proud to offer the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation's (NRAEF) ProStart program. As the foodservice industry continues to grow, the NRAEF has forecasted an alarming shortage of restaurant managers. ProStart was created to interest high school students in this diverse industry to head off these shortages.
ProStart is the career-building program for high school students who are interested in culinary arts and foodservice management. Over two challenging and rewarding years, ProStart students experience classroom study, mentored work experiences, and local and national competitions. Whether students are looking to enter the job market directly after graduating, or if they plan to attend college, a ProStart graduate makes a solid candidate for success.
