The CNA program prepares the student to work in the nursing home, hospital, or assisted living facility.  The successful student will be eligible to take the state of Florida Certified Nursing Exam at the end of the course.  Coursework includes infection control practices, safety issues, HIV/AIDS/Domestic Violence, CPR, patient rights, confidentiality, legal and ethical issues, and patient care procedures.  Procedures will be practiced in the classroom lab before clinical experience begins.  All students must complete a minimum of forty (40) hours of clinical practice in a long-term care facility in order to receive certification.  Job placement assistance is available. 

Special Note: Students must undergo criminal background screening before participating in the clinical portion of the program.

Hours & Length of Program:

CNA: Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m., approximately six weeks

HHA: Correspondence from home or Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m., two weeks
