Child Care Apprenticeship Coordinator: Joy Manning
Apprenticeship is a method of instruction designed to prepare students for jobs within the community it serves. Utilization of this method is a joint effort between the school and the child care business community. Apprentices receive a combination of vocational instruction in the classroom and related on-the-job training through employment in the child care field. Learning experiences are jointly planned and supervised by the Child Care Apprenticeship coordinator and the employer. Child Care Apprenticeship is relevant to the needs of the student-trainee and will assist the student in obtaining the Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC) equivalent which is required of the child care worker by the State of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services.
